Nakamura-san of G-Corporation has always been a creative force, designing aero and parts since the early 2000s. That creativity goes far beyond car styling. It carries through his product design, graphic work, and overall presence as a brand.
I was lucky enough to be given a tour of Nakamura-san’s S15 Silvia drift car, which is a masterpiece in its own right. Nearly every part has been customised by Nakamura-san himself. The aero is the original G-Corporation Flash Type 2, an evolution of the earlier Type 1, which lacked the side vents. You can see the lineage clearly when compared to the Flash Type 2 aero on the 180SX, itself loosely inspired by the original Nissan 180SX Type X bumper. The fenders, wing, canards, and mirrors are all original G-Corporation parts.
G-Corporation has always been loyal to Work Wheels, with many of their cars running across almost the entire Work catalogue. This S15 stays true to that history, wearing a set of Emotion ZR10s wrapped in Valino rubber. The car is finished in a yellow metallic paint and topped off with a bold printed livery that perfectly captures the loud, unmistakable G-Corp style. A fun detail is the driver sticker above the passenger door reading “Mee Nakamura”, which is actually named after Nakamura-san’s beloved cat.
That same creativity continues into the engine bay, where nearly everything has been customised, including a G-Corporation carbon cooling panel and carbon fan shroud. It’s especially cool to see it still running an SR20, rather than being swapped to an RB or JZ.
On a personal level, it meant a lot to finally meet someone I’ve looked up to for so long creatively, and to see how his style has evolved while maintaining the core essence of the brand. And as a bonus, it was amazing to see the original G-Corporation truck still alive and well, complete with its full early-2000s airbrush work.
