Garage Sokudo @ Motor Ex Melbourne 2026

Last weekend we were invited to attend the huge two-day MotorEx here in Melbourne. For those interstate or overseas who might not know it, it’s one of Australia’s biggest car events, showcasing hand-picked cars from nearly every corner of car culture. Modified 4WDs, full restorations, high-end show cars, drifting, and of course a strong mix of Japanese cars all in one show.

It felt like the perfect place to release our new brand Sokudo R, a range of car parts and accessories paying homage to the 2000s Japanese tuning scene. Our booth ended up right beside the drift section run by Drift Cadet, so all weekend was filled with the sound of demos and passenger runs from friends out on track. The selection of cars throughout the event was incredible, although being flat out at the booth most of the weekend meant I didn’t get nearly as much time walking around as I would’ve liked.

Day one brought perfect weather, but things changed quickly on the morning of day two with heavy rain and wild winds. Driving in, I was half expecting to find the marquee folded into the SK15SPL Silvia, but somehow everything survived untouched. Once the weather cleared, the second day ended up turning into another really good one.

I managed to sneak away here and there to shoot a few photos, including Jake’s S13 Silvia, a full BOMEX-inspired S13 Silvia and a handful of others that caught my attention throughout the weekend.

Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth to support, pick something up or even just have a chat. Seeing people connect with Sokudo R and welcome it with open arms honestly means a lot to me.
