Tanoshi Party @ Link Circuit

In my many years of preserving 2000s tuning history and culture, I’ve met some amazing people around the world. But there is a small group of guys in Japan who are truly keeping the golden era alive.

I was lucky enough to be invited to a very intimate event at Link Circuit in Fukushima called Tanoshi Party. Every car was focused on 2000s styling and it genuinely felt like I had stepped back in time. In an era of functionality, higher ride heights and newer technology, it was cool to see a bunch of low cars running mainly older wheels.

The selection of cars was small, but this was a case of quality over quantity. Most cars were super clean, bumpers on, and simply there to enjoy drifting with friends rather than focusing on getting super close and leaving a mark on someone’s door.

Many of the drivers I had been friends with on Instagram for years, so it was so good to finally meet face to face. Such a cool group of people who genuinely want to keep the old styling of cars alive, and that truly means so much to me.
